Hono - Timing Attack in basicAuth and bearerAuth Middleware
LOW (3.7)
Hono before 4.11.10 contains a timing attack vulnerability in the basicAuth and bearerAuth middlewares due to non-constant-time string comparison in the timingSafeEqual function. Attackers can exploit early termination of string equality checks to infer valid credentials through precise timing measurements.

Hono - Prototype Pollution via __proto__ Key in parseBody with dot Option
MEDIUM (4.8)
Hono before 4.12.7 allows __proto__ key in parseBody with dot option enabled, permitting specially crafted form field names to create objects with __proto__ properties. When parsed results are merged into regular JavaScript objects using unsafe merge patterns, attackers can exploit this to achieve prototype pollution and modify object behavior.

Hono - Missing Cookie Name Validation in setCookie()
MEDIUM (5.3)
Hono before 4.12.12 does not validate cookie names on the write path in the setCookie(), serialize(), and serializeSigned() functions, allowing invalid characters such as control characters (e.g. \r or \n) when an application passes a user-controlled cookie name. This can produce malformed Set-Cookie header values. In modern runtimes such as Node.js and Cloudflare Workers, such invalid header values are rejected and cause a runtime error before the response is sent, so header injection or response splitting could not be reproduced; the issue primarily affects correctness and robustness, resulting in runtime errors (availability) rather than confirmed header injection.

hono - HTML Injection via Improper JSX Attribute Name Handling in SSR
MEDIUM (4.3)
hono before 4.12.14 contains an html injection vulnerability in jsx server-side rendering that allows attackers to inject unintended html by using malformed attribute names. Attackers can craft specially crafted attribute keys containing characters like quotes or angle brackets to break html tag boundaries and inject arbitrary attributes or elements.

Hono - Vary Header Injection in CORS Middleware
MEDIUM (6.5)
Hono before 4.10.2 (fixed in 4.10.3) contains a flaw in its CORS middleware: when the origin is not set to "*", the middleware copies the Vary header from the incoming request into the response. Because Vary is a response header that should be managed by the server, an attacker can supply arbitrary Vary values that are reflected into the response, potentially causing cache key pollution and inconsistent CORS enforcement in environments that rely on shared caches or proxies.
